This is another piece of information I thought might be of interest. It’s not a book but an important initiative.
The General Sir John Monash Foundation has announced that applications for the 2016 John Monash Scholarships are now open and that applicants will be able to apply online until 12 August 2015.
Recipients of the prestigious John Monash Scholarships receive financial assistance of $60,000 per year for up to three years to undertake postgraduate studies at the world’s leading universities. The Scholarships have been awarded annually since 2004, and recognise leadership capability, academic excellence, and potential contribution to Australia.
14 Scholarships have been awarded for 2015, and it is expected that a similar number of Scholarships will be awarded again for 2016. The John Monash Scholarships have the support of public and private sector sponsors, including Department of Veterans’ Affairs, Department of Education, Australia Council for the Arts, NSW and Victorian Governments, BHP Billiton, Commonwealth Bank, The Myer Foundation, Origin Foundation, Pratt Foundation, Wesfarmers, Woodside, individual benefactors and a consortium of 13 Australian Universities.
The Foundation has awarded 110 Scholarships in the past 13 years and has plans to grow its capacity to enable the selection of 20 Scholars every year.
